Patriotic Vibes

Time is flying by and we can’t believe the Fourth is just a few days away. We’ve been ready for this long weekend and can’t wait to enjoy the summer days outside the office. How will we be spending our time? Basking in the sun with friends wearing nothing but our swimsuits, of course! So break out the red, white and blue because we’ve got everything you need to prepare for the best weekend of the summer.

First, a good fit. Instagram is flooded with red, white and blue outfits. Keep it casual with basic neutrals, or take this holiday to the next level by embracing the stars and stripes. Want to make a statement? Support our troops by going the camo route like Sincerely, Jules did. You can see all of our favorite looks here:

Next, and most importantly, hair. If you’re like us, you’ll be in and out of the water all day. No free spirit has time to worry about her hair when she’s jumping off the boat one minute and sipping sangria the next. What’s a girl to do? Braids. Luckily Nine Zero One Salon out of West Hollywood keeps our hair up and out of our faces with this “Around the World” halo braid.

For our short-haired ladies try this braided style:

Want to impress all of your friends and be the weekend Grill Goddess? Veggies, meat and more – throw it all on! Well we cheated a bit and used Real Simple’s 15 Fourth of July Recipes for the Grill, but shhh! It can be our little secret.

Lastly, you’ve got to stay hydrated, right? We’ve got just the drink for you. Sangria is synonymous with summer, and this recipe is fruity and festive. Just make sure to prepare it ahead of time – the longer it sits, the better it will taste. Here’s what you’ll need:

Rosé Sangria

  1. 4 bottles of Rosé wine
  2. 1 bottle of sparkling white wine
  3. 3 cups of Raspberries, quartered strawberries, diced peaches

Pour the rosé and fruit into a large pitcher or dispenser. Place in the fridge for several hours to let the flavors of the fruit and wine mix into a sweet summery blend. When you’re ready to serve, add the sparkling white wine for a little pop! Optional, freeze blood orange ice cubes ahead of time. Then instead of regular ice cubes that will water down the drinks, the juice will blend in and add a little extra flavor. Enjoy!

Now go out and have the best Fourth possible – Don’t forget the sunscreen!
